Sketch n Stash #56

So, a sketch and new/neglected stash?

I've used Spring Breeze from Shabby Princess for most of this digi card.
I downloaded it a few years ago and put it on disc along with their other kits,
but keep forgetting to get my discs out to use them. Must do it more often I think.

The little girl image is part of the Sugar and Spice digi stamp collection by Lou
and available exclusively from Charmed Cards and Crafts

I've been using a different programme to do my digi crafting.
I was using Serif's Digital Scrapbook Artist, but have been
trying out Serif's Craft Artist. Both are the compact version,
but I'm liking Craft Artist more as I can do shadows which I
feel gives a better end result, Here's the same card without
the shadows. What do you all think? Which do you prefer?

The Birthday Party

The family descended on my sister and her family last Saturday
to help celebrate her fella's 30th birthday last Thursday.

Here's a few photo from it. I wish I'd taken more, but my batteries
wouldn't last long. My new charger is pants, but I have my old one
back now, so I should be able to take more in future.

This is my cute (I am only just) 3 year old nephew Kieran
as cute as a button, but still beat me on the Wii !!!

Doing his Mario waiting impression,
hand on hip and toe tapping

Then comes Mario's wagging finger
still with hand on hip and toe tapping.
I was laughing too much hence the blur

The man of the day. Not sure what he was laughing at,
but the daughter in the corner was doing her
"I am not amused" look

Not sure who was more interested in the
new Buzz Lightyear toy. Dad or son?
Was a late Christmas present for Kieran from Auntie Alex.

Trying not to get attacked by the zombies, but failed

And here's two of them who stopped him

Quick, while Daddy's not watching, I can actually play with my new toy!

Alex concentrating hard while Kieran watches Grandma with Buzz

If you tilt your head to the side or turn your computer screen
you'll be able to see this short video clip featuring Kieran and Daddy

If you didn't catch what Daddy said at the end it's
"He just looked at me and went like that!"

It's not until I try to take photos of little ones at play, that I realise
how quickly they move. If only they'd stand still occasionally, then I
could get better photos. Then again, if I want them to be 'real' blurry it is!

Enjoy the little ones while it lasts, they'll all grow up too quick!

52Q ~ Q10 LO and Journalling

Q10 - Name (up to) 5 movies that inspire you creatively

My instant thought on this was to go with Pretty In Pink as several of my LOs nowadays are girlie, pretty and pink. But then a lightbulb came on and Forrest Gump entered the building.

Why Forrest Gump?!? Well, to be honest, I don't really think about films inspiring me creatively, but when I look at my crafting when it's finished, it loos rather simple and easy on the surface. Underneath it though, it's probably taken me a few hours to make and there's usually more to it than meets the eye.

The LO I've done for this question has one sheet of patterned paper, a few typed words and Forrest Gump sitting on the bench. Easy and simple yeah? No! It took me an hour to make the image transparent as I don't have the full scrapbook programme and another hour of placing, moving and re-sizing all the elements.

But I love the end result and that's all that matters.

Backing paper is from the Delight Kit by Computer Scrapbook and
the image I got from Googling and gave a transparent background

Weekly Intention

This week I need to keep on track with my eating as I have a weigh in on Friday afternoon.

No eating cakes or loads of bread.

No snacking late at night.

No eating just because I'm bored or fed up.

Eating three proper meals each day.

Eating vegetables and salad with two of my meals.

Eating sensible portions.

No leaving ages between meals so that I get a sugar craving.

Eating properly and healthily with sensible portions and at sensible times.
