ATDML CC - Saturday 4pm Class

Saturday, 4pm and Mel Hand's mini book class. Mel did hers for the travels she's been on as well as future ones. I've done mine as a sort of 'smash' book so that I can jot ideas and such for crafting in my future.

The right hand page has a pocket for 'bits'

Envelope is stuck to the page on 2 sides so that I can easily slip extra papers behind it

This envelope is stuck to the page on 2 sides as before with the lined paper slipped behind.

Folded piece of plain paper on the left gives loads of room for me to write/draw/stick

This envelope is bound as an additional item, leaving the page behind it free.
I stuck some card to the edge of the envelope for extra stability.

I made a deep pocket for the last page so that I can put loads or a bulky item in it

Summer of Colour - 2nd colour - Art Journal entry

Here's my art journal entry for this week's green + citron challenge

I've used watercolour paints which I've used straight from the tube, spread with baby wipes to do my base and sun. Onto this, I doodled waves, added the quote and used buttons to do some stamping.

My other two green pieces are here.

ATDML CC - Sunday 3pm Class

Sunday at 3pm, Dawn Evans gave us our last class which included hand-cutting and multiple photos.

Here's my version

I only have 2 classes left to do, then I'll have done all of the classes and challenges. Not sure if they'll get done though as I have things to do and I'm away on the deadline day, so no working right to the end  :(

ATDML CC - Saturday 10pm Class

10pm Saturday and the class by Suzanne Torr had us working with circles, chipboard and needles.
I pricked my finger more than once, but I reckon it was well worth it, what do you think? I also doodled all the flower stems and leaves as I didn't have the same paper Suzanne used. I must do this more often.

ATDML CC - Saturday 8pm Class

8pm Saturday and Ann Freeman gave us a class on making a triple frame/3 panel card.
I've added a 4th panel and have left spaces for photos to be added as soon as I have them.

ATDML CC - Fri 7pm Class

The first class of the week-end by Mel Hand had me quaking in fear to start with, but that soon dispersed. We had to cut strips of PP and were making a mini-book. I had visions of a book that pulled out with some fandangled mechanism that I was going to have to master. How wrong was I? It was so much easier than that and I eventually breathed a sigh of relief. We were making a folded mini-book to put in the centre square.

My LO isn't quite finished as I have 2 spaces for a photo of my new nephew and one in the middle of the mini book for a group photo of all of my sister's children. I've left some of the strips lose so that I can stick them over the edge of the photo too. When the LO's completely finished, I'll post new photos of it, but as I won't get them in time for the deadline, here's what I do have to show you. This is an idea I'll be doing again.

ATDML CC - Sunday 12pm Class

Sunday at 12pm, Jane Hewitt gave us a class on which we made a mini book. Jane used velcro
to keep her book open, but I've put a flower on both covers and used magnets as the centres.

Here's mine using photos I took of Ely Cathedral. Those who know me quite well, will
know that I love architecture and as these photos show, the Cathedral certainly has a lot of it.

Now I have a book that I can look at any time I want and marvel at how amazing it all is.

UKScrappers Weekly Challenge - June 2011 week 3 and Scrap Factor week 10

Weekly Challenge - June 2011 week 3

Cosmic challenged us this week to:

scrap animals or birds
use lots of embellishments
use blue
put embellishments in one area of the LO (eg an edge/corner)

Here's my LO with all criteria met

Scrap Factor week 10 was all about using NO patterned paper/card. You could be as creative as you liked with plain paper/card, so I've re-coloured and watermarked the digi stamp shown below and used it to cover my plain background.  Then it was a case of building up the LO with embellishments and journalling.

I've used kits by Shabby Princess to make my LO

52Q ~ Q25 - LO and Journalling

Q25 - Have I had a hug today?

It would be wrong of me to say no, because I have. I have crafty friends all over the world and some several of them have sent loads of hugs to me this week-end and today is no exception.

Virtual Hugs - LOADS / IRL Hugs - 0

But I had a cuddle with my baby nephew today. Born on Friday morning, I went over to meet him and he's beautiful. So, Baby F (no name due to indecisive parents), you and I snuggled up to each other and despite my arm aching by the end, we were there for about two hours.

Who needs hugs when there's baby cuddles in abundance?

LO was done using the Picnic in the Park kit by Daisy Trail

Baby Boy Exploding Box

Made this to take with me tomorrow when I hopefully get to see my new baby nephew

Meant to photograph each layer before sticking it together, but had a 'doh' moment and forgot

Outside of box
(I've left the tag blank as they still haven't named him)

Middle layer

Central layer

As usual with my baby boxes, I've stuck plain paper on the inner pages. As there's 12 of them, it gives the parents chance to stick a photo a month to have a lovely record of their baby's first year.

Warning - you may need your sunglasses for this

Fingers crossed that the gorgeous sky tonight means a beautiful sunny day tomorrow with no rain for once. Sitting under the skylight, this was my view a couple of minutes ago

ATDML CC - Sunday 1pm Challenge

The last challenge for the CyberCrop was to scraplift a LO from the ATDML gallery.
I chose to scraplift Time Out by Suzanne Torr as I love the clean neat feel to it.
