Shimelle's Cybercrop - 7th challenge

Shimelle's 7th challenge had me in a spin. Scrap in red and white - yep, I can do that, but add aqua???? Now that I don't do because I'm not known for doing bright LOs. After much deliberation, I decided to brave it and see what aqua items I had in my digi kits. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I had and went for it. Wasn't sure what I thought while I was scrapping with it and still aren't too sure, but hey ho, it's something new and challenging and that's what these week-ends are partly for aren't they? To challenge, inspire and encourage you to step outside your comfort zone.

This is not a LO for Mum's album, so you don't need to worry about her finding out about it.

Shimelle's Cybercrop - 6th challenge

Challenge #6 - Grid it up. Yeah, right, I don't usually do grids unless it's part of a sketch. Or do I? Could I? What would I use to fill a grid? Photos? Patterned papers? Journalling? Embellishments? The possibilities were mind boggling. As I wanted to do another page for  my Mum's album .....

..... I decided to fill a grid with photos and in the end, had enough photos for another DLO. Not bad eh? Three DLOs in two days! So, I guess you'd quite like to see the result and if you don't, here it is anyway so you may as well take a peek.

Shimelle's Cybercrop - 5th challenge

Our 5th challenge this week-end was to add journalling to a LO we'd done previously. I'd planned on adding a second page to one I did last night, so it was quite easy for me to do this challenge.

And yes, as usual this week-end

My original LO is the left hand side - new page is on the right.

Shimelle's Cybercrop - 4th challenge

Chop up your paper we were told, so I have.

And yes, again, it's a

This time it's a double LO.

Shimelle's Cybercrop - 3rd challenge

Starting Point is the title of Shimelle's 3rd challenge for us and here's my interpretation of it. I loved her use of the map on here LO and as I've only used a map once before on a LO, decided to scraplift that idea too.

Oh and it's another one of those

Shimelle's Cybercrop - 2nd challenge

Our second challenge was to mix and match stickers. Mine are the flowers from one kit and the fun banner from another.

And it's another LO for Mum's album.

Shimelle's Cybercrop - 1st challenge

The lovely MaryAnne from UKScrappers has teamed with Shimelle to give us 3 sheets of printables to use as the first challenge this week-end. Thank you MA. I turned the PDFs into PNG files so that I could use them in my digi scrapping. And I've done another page for the album I'm making for Mum.

and yes, I am going to remind you of this every time I do a LO for her just in case you forget!

Here's my LO

I've extracted Mum from the photo she was in and layered her so that it looks as if she's leaning on the flowers that I extracted from some PP.

Shimelle's Sketch Of The Week (latest sketch)

Shimelle told us that if we wanted to do something pre the week-end challenges, she had this week's sketch on her blog so we could work with that and I chose to do just that.

I've decided that for this week-end I'm going to use photos from the holiday Mum and I had in Somerset. Apologies if you've seen the photos before, but once I have all the LOs I want, I plan to get them printed and make into an album to give to Mum. If anyone's who knows Mum is reading this, your lips are sealed until she's got the album in her hands as I want it to be a surprise. I'll let you know when you can mention it to her, but until then

And here's the first LO you need to keep quiet about

Summer of Colour - Show and Tell

It's so sad because the Summer of Colour has come to an end. Thank you so much Kristin for doing this for us all, for sharing your fabulous pieces of work and for the amazing giveaways. Congratulations to all the winners.

For the last week, we were encouraged to group our own pieces of work and showcase them together. I wanted to do a cover and bind my art journal, but I seem to have misplaced my yellow piece, so that will have to wait. For now, I have used the collage feature of Picnic and am showing you everything together. I did three different pieces each week - Polyvore "inspirational" digi LOs, Polyvore "I dream of ..... "digi LOs and art journal "inspirational" pages.

So, without further ado, here is my:

Summer of Colour

Thanks for looking,

Love, Sarah xoxo

For anyone who would like it, I've done my version of the 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' as seen in my green inspirational Polyvore piece. Feel free to use the link below and save it for your own use, but leave me a comment to let me know you have please. Thanks xx

UKScrappers Weekly Challenge and 52Q - Q's 30, 31 and 32

Weekly Challlenge set by the Haslingfield crop ladies and they challenged us to:

photos of a group or a group of photos
use a given sketch from Page Maps
include the letter H in our title
include a star

I spent a while playing with brushes and punches. Even the stars are punches and the weave effect is done using a paintbrush. I'm slowly learning how to use different things with my Craft Artist Professional programme and each time I learn something new, I feel rather pleased with myself! Self praise it may be, but it makes me happy and that can never be a bad thing can it?

Right, enough waffling, here's the LO that I did for this challenge

Q30 - Who do you need to thank?

The last few weeks/months/years have been pretty tough going. Marriage break-up, nervous break-down, moving home twice and lack of money have all been contributors.

If it weren't for the following people, I would never have survived. So:

LO is done using a cup image from the internet and kits by Daisy Trail.

Q31 - What three words would someone use to describe you?

I took part in Shimelle's 'True Stories' last year. One of the prompts was to fill in the blanks of a paragraph/story. We were then encouraged to write our own for others to fill in.

With mine, I had 'she is' and 'my one word to sum her up would be'. Similar words started appearing and the most of these being words like 'Caring', 'Artistic' and 'Kind'.

That's how others see me. Do I agree? Yes, maybe I do.

LO is done using kits by Computer Scrapbook

Q32 - Why did I do that?

Life is full of 'ifs'. 'If' U hadn't been born a girl, would I have felt loved more and grown up a stronger person? 'If' we hadn't gone on holiday, would bad things still have happened? 'If' I'd been allowed to do what I wanted at school,  would I have had a better life? 'If', 'if', 'if' ..... 'If' I'd been a better girlfriend/wife would i be with the man of my dreams?

There are way too many 'ifs', but we can't go back and change things. So:

LO was done using Mary's Silent Films kit
