LSNED 2011 - 9th September

9th September

Following on from my learning at the end of 8th September, an SOS call after midnight had me driving through the night and seeing the new day in, so my first few lessons are to do with that.
  1. It's nice to be needed and wanted by others.
  2. Faffing about gets us no-where
  3. My sister's a dab-hand at navigating with just a map. Ok, I knew this already, but I'm reminded of it every time we're out and that's all we have to use.
  4. It's a huge relief when you reach your destination.
  5. I really can stay awake for 24 hours at a time.
  6. There's nothing like closing your eyes once you get home though.
  7. Dairy-free flap jacks are nom-nom-nom!!!
  8. Sometimes an early night is the only option.

LSNED 2011 - 6th, 7th and 8th September Plus Shimelle's Sketch of the Week

6th September
  1. I can eat healthily and enjoy it - salad with a few cubes of goat's cheese and pitta bread followed by a soya yoghurt.
  2. I'm not able to spend as long at my computer without being bored. Not a bad thing for me to realise as I spend way to much time on it.
  3. Looks like Summer's over - at least for now as it's windy and raining.
  4. It's nice spending time with family over a birthday meal and memories of the 'Miranda' programme on BBC1. "Bear with ..... bear with ..... bear with" and "What have you done today to make me feel prouuud?"

7th September
  1. I can get up really early to sort me and the animals out if I have to leave early.
  2. Three hours job searching goes so much quicker if you have to spend half of that time doing an on-line application.
  3. You can get dairy free ice-cream in a waffle cone in Cambridge : )
  4. My sister (Jo) and I really can talk for hours about all sorts when we meet.
  5. Taking the dog for a walk is lovely, but even nicer if there's someone with you.
  6. Jo has a way with animals and managed to get the dog to stay still to have the collar and lead put on instead of him dancing around me.
  7. There is a game I can be beaten on and she's really good at it.
  8. You need the right ingredients and the correct amount to make a nice meal exceptional. We had the wrong noodles and not enough sauce for our stir-fry.

8th September
  1. Delegating some of the feeding of the animals means more ZZZZzzzzzzzz's : ) Hee hee.
  2. My tablets are being changed yet again!
  3. If you've never tried a certain food, buy a little tub instead of the larger one. Less wastage and cheaper.
  4. Lists for holiday can easily grow. Will the car be big enough I wonder?
  5. Sometimes a veggie sausage sandwich hits the spot.
  6. An impromptu delay on going home for Jo meant that we got more time to natter and we were in the right place at the right time. More on the whys and wherefores tomorrow as most of this happened after midnight, so a lesson for 9th September.

LSNED 2011 - 5th September

5th September
  1. Sometimes you can get what you want. My eldest nephew has got a place at college to do Performing Arts after acing his audition. Congratulations D.
  2. It's nice to be able to give something to someone.
  3. I need to keep my mobile by me in case it get a call or text, instead of being where I can't hear it.

LSNED 2011 - 4th September

4th September
  1. I can't rely on my phone alarm clock to wake me up. Or at least I didn't think I could, until I realised that I had it set for week days only and yesterday was part of the week-end! Oops.
  2. Cooking a meal really doesn't take that long.
  3. I love finding fresh eggs every day. Thanks chickens, you're amazing.
  4. I love having breaks from the computer and the internet. Must do it more when I'm at home.
  5. Little things amuse me. Had to smile at the dog giving up his basket when one of the cats came in and wanted it. Bless him.
  6. I'm quite enjoying my holiday house and pet sitting. Totally different way of life to what I'm used to, but brilliant at the same time.

LSNED 2011 - 3rd September

3rd September
  1. Written instructions are invaluable, especially when looking after other people's animals.
  2. It's nice to be needed by someone - like the animals need me at the moment.
  3. My Mum can learn technology if she tries. She's worked out her new phone for photos and smilies in texts. Big leap forward for her.
