It's been a while .....

and I have no excuse for not having dropped in here before. It's not like I haven't been crafting. I've been doing the challenges on UKScrappers every week so should have paid a visit before now.

As well as digi-scrapping, I've been working and erm... working. Not much else really. What an exciting life I lead! Here's a selection of the work I've done since you last saw me. Warning, very LO heavy (sorry)

Thanks for staying with me. See you soon.
I promise I won't leave it so long next time.

LSNED 2013 - Day 30

Day 30 is always a sad day when you're doing LSNED and today's no exception. This is because not only is it the last day of September, but it's the last day of LSNED. Today has been a day of learning what I need to do. Amongst other things:

1)      I need to stop rushing about in the mornings.
2)     I need to think before speaking.
3)     I need to empty my bag properly when I get home.

Here's my LO

LSNED 2013 - Day 29

Day 29 of LSNED and today's lessons are:

1)      I need to leave my camera about more often.
2)     Determination is the key to success.
3)     Once again, I'm realising I mustn't have a ‘short’ nap because it’s rarely a short one and this time I woke in time for bed.

LSNED 2013 - Day 28

Day 28 of LSNED and I have one simple lesson for those days/nights when everything seems impossible:

1)     When life gets us down, we should put on some music, draw the curtains, turn off the lights and dance around with glow sticks. My nephews had a blast doing this and it looked like so much fun. The eldest even made a glow stick belt.

LSNED 2013 - Day 27

Day 27 of LSNED and today's lessons are:

1)     It’s hard knowing what to say when someone is hurting and sad.
3)     When I’m debating between two foods for dinner, I need to make a decision and not buy both to decide later as it's a waste of money.
4)     It’s nice having things to look forward to.
5)    I should never underestimate the talent of some people.

LSNED 2013 - Day 26

Day 26 of LSNED and two lessons for today are:

1)      After almost 21 months, I still appreciate the job I have.

2)     Chocolate is not a dinner.

LSNED 2013 - Day 25

Day 25 of LSNED and here are today's lessons:

1)     I can now change more details on client’s cases.
2)    Curry sauce can be really hot, so use in moderation until I know.
3)     I need to be more organised on a craft night and I need to do more than I have the last two meetings.
4)     Frys Cream’s are nice, but not that nice any more. Am I finally going off chocolate? That's a scary thought!

LSNED 2013 - Day 24

Day 24 of LSNED and today we were encouraged to look at what we forget. Here are my thoughts on that:

I'm one of the most forgetful people I know, but I wasn't always like that. I used to be able to remember all sorts except people’s names. When I was working in a taxi office, I’d know our regular customers by the time of day they rang or by their voice. I often knew what they wanted before they told me. I knew drivers by their voices when they called over the radio. I knew all of this, but putting names to those people was hard.
If I saw people in the flesh, I’d know who they were as soon as they spoke. I’d be able to tell a customer what their last journey was and I’d be able to tell a driver what shift they were on next. Ask me to put a name to that face and I’d look at you with a blank expression. I’d be searching that part of my brain that names went into and struggled to get out of again.
I still have that same problem today. Customers ring and I know their voices. I can’t put a name to the voice and often struggle to put a case reference to it also, but I know who I’m speaking to and sometimes even have an idea of what they’re calling about. I will that part of my brain to let the right piece of information jump out and make an appearance, just this once. It doesn’t happen often though.
That brings me to today’s lesson – I will always struggle to remember names.

LSNED 2013 - Day 23

Day 23 of LSNED and today's lessons is:

"I'm taking a break. I'll be back soon." is something I said a couple of weeks ago. For some reason, that 'soon' is longer than I expected it would be. Sorry teamies if you're reading this. I will be back soon, I promise.

LSNED 2013 - Day 22

Day 22 of LSNED and it's New Skill Sunday. I decided to try to get to grips with the spot tool in CA2P to protect a certain coloured area when making a photo B&W. I've tried it out on my photo on my LO below.

Here's a couple of learnings from today:

1)      You can’t stop Christmas coming even if you try.
2)     I can use the spot tool in CA2P to protect colours when changing to B&W (see the red hat?).

LSNED 2013 - Day 21

Day 21 of LSNED and we were encouraged to look at the difference between our Monday - Friday life and our week-ends. Here are some of my thoughts on that:

During the week, my day has a routine. I get to meet people, be with people and have a laugh. I love my week days most of the time.
During the week-end, my days usually consist of no routine at all. I get up whenever I can drag myself out of bed and get the washing done. I don't usually see anyone. I don't often talk to anyone.
My week days and week-ends are so different from each other. It's not everyone who can say "I prefer being at work to having time off".

LSNED 2013 - Day 20

Day 20 of LSNED and today's lessons are:

1)     I can change multiple separate words to the same word at the same time in a Word document (I know what I mean, even if you don’t!).
2)     It feels good to see work tasks going down.
3)     Salad takes much longer to eat than a bread roll and keeps you fuller for longer.
4)     I need to double or triple check things I type before saving or sending.
5)     Some people have more money than sense.
6)     An alarm won’t necessarily wake you after a quick nap if you’re really tired.

LSNED 2013 - Day 19

Day 19 of LSNED and today's lessons are:

1)     Leaving the office at lunchtime means I go back more refreshed, but I can’t buy lunch out every day.
2)     It’s ok not to know the answers as long as you to turn to someone for help.

LSNED 2013 - Day 18

Day 18 of LSNED and today's lessons are:

1)      Failure to prepare is to prepare to fail.
2)     You can’t rely on buses despite them being almost on time most of the time. There's always going to be one occasion when they're not.
3)     There are some lovely people in this world.
4)     I feel so far away when a friend is in need.
5)     Summer is well and truly over.
6)     Bonjela cool is great for my sore mouth, but only works for such a short time.

LSNED 2013 - Day 17

Day 17 of LSNED and today's lessons are:

1) Taking lunch to work is so much cheaper than buying it out. So pleased I took a salad to work today.
2) Everything happens for a reason.
3)     Going to bed when I can’t stay awake is much better than forcing myself to stay awake.

LSNED 2013 - Day 16

Day 16 of LSNED and today's lesson is:

No matter how young or old we are, we never stop learning. Because of this, it’s nice to take 30 days out of my year to record how much I have learnt of those days.

LSNED 2013 - Day 15

Day 15 of LSNED and today's lessons are from spending time with my youngest nephews this morning

1)     Being an Auntie is such an amazing feeling (ok, I knew this already, but being with the nephews only re-affirms that knowledge).
2)     I can build a “really good” lego model that mustn’t be played with according to Kieran and it matters not that it has neither a name nor purpose at the time.
3)     Looking at photos surrounded by the little nephews is so lovely. Hearing them saying who people are and listening to their excited voices when they see themselves is priceless.
4)     Brothers will be brothers. They will play and fight together, but what matters most and was clearly seen today, is that they love each other, are there for each other and want the other one to be there for them.
